“There were at least 150 people there who fled and believed they had to flee for their lives, so this is quite a big deal,” said Danielle Outlaw, Philadelphia police commissioner.

Five other victims – three men and two women – allegedly suffered a stable condition. Each of the other victims was hit only once by a bullet on some part of his body.

Outlaw decided to increase patrols to curb unbridled gun violence, reports NBC Philadelphia.

“We thought the shooting or the violence would subside at some point due to the weather, and honestly, I think we saw that it wasn’t like that,” Outlaw said.

The investigation is at an early stage. No suspect was identified.

Outlaw reportedly said the incident was “illegal” because it violated coronavirus safety restrictions, and that police would be in contact with the city about possible sanctions for the restaurant.
