Alec Bohm’s left foot may have touched the home side in the top of the ninth innings at Truist Park on Sunday night. He scored on either side.
Bohm’s controversial run saved the Phillies series with a 7-6 victory over the Braves. Bohm doubled to the right midfield to start the ninth. Jean Segura’s first place in second place advanced Bohm to third place. Didi Gregorius then hits a volleyball to shallow left field, just 230 yards from the home plate. Phillies third base coach Dusty Wathan sent Bohm off. Braves left-back Marcell Ozuna threw to the plate. The ball and Bohm arrived home around the same time and referee Lance Barrett called Bohm safe. But television footage shows that Bohm’s foot may have just missed the mark.
Replay said the play will be named as he stands.
Hector Neris scored a pointless ninth place as the Phillies avoided the series wide.
