Philippe Myers, Morgan Frost leaves Flyers-Sabers game with apparent injuries

The Flyers hope they do not walk the wounded when they leave for Boston.

In their fourth game of the season, the Flyers picked up two more players Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Defender Philippe Myers did not come out with the Flyers for the second period. With just over two minutes left in the opening frame, Myers joins Sabers defender Jake McCabe on a check. Myers was last on the ice shortly after the play, but did not return after the first break.

Morgan Frost, who competed for the injured Sean Couturier (costochondral separation) on Monday, stooped off the ice with less than five minutes left in the second period. Flyers’ director of sports medicine, Jim McCrossin, cared for the 21-year-old center as he slowly pulled up the tunnel to the locker room while remaining hunched over. Frost had an uncomfortable hit from McCabe behind the Sabers just before he went out.

Myers and Frost did not return to the bank at the beginning of the third period. The team did not immediately update either of the two players.

Shayne Gostisbehere missed the Flyers’ first four games due to the COVID protocol. Mark Friedman is the Flyers’ eighth defender. Connor Bunnaman is currently the extra forward of the Flyers and can fill in at center if necessary.

The Flyers play the Bruins Thursday and Saturday in Boston.
