Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons for All-Star Game for Contact Detection

The Philadelphia 76ers’ team, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, have been ruled out of Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta, the league announced. The two had contact with a barber who has since tested positive for the coronavirus, sources told ESPN.

The barber, who is located in the Philadelphia area, tested positive after undergoing additional tests on Sunday due to an unconvincing positive test, sources said.

Embiid is in Team Durant, while Simmons is in Team LeBron.

Both Embiid and Simmons traveled to Atlanta by private jet on Saturday night and remained in quarantine, which was the protocol for every All-Star contestant. The NBA is afraid of an outbreak involving the league’s best players in Atlanta, and has taken important precautions to isolate the players on their way to and from Atlanta for the game.
