A Wisconsin pharmacist has reportedly been arrested by police after he was accused of removing 57 vials of COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna from the refrigerator at a local hospital. Steven Bradenburg, 46, was arrested and taken to Ozaukee County Jail.
Police reported that the man had ignored the coronavirus vaccine, “knowing it would not be useful.” Reports noted that Brandenburg admitted in a written statement that they had intentionally removed the vials, knowing that they would be useless as a result.
Brandenburg apparently admitted that the bottles were left out for a long time on December 24 and 25. According to Moderna, the vaccine can last up to 12 hours outside of refrigeration. Brandenburg is charged with criminal property damage, adultery of a prescription drug, and first-degree crime that recklessly endangered security.
