Pewdiepie returns to YouTube with a face revealed

Pewdiepie reveals his face … or something.

YouTube’s biggest single content creator, Felix Kjellberg, better known as Pewdiepie, is back from a brief three-week hiatus he took during the first of the year. During his return episode, we learned that Pewdiepie – after a decade of YouTube – will finally give us a face … vice versa.

For the past ten years we have become very familiar with what Pewdiepie looks like. The YouTuber has never been ashamed to show his face and share stories of his life, no matter how embarrassing. Given the popularity of YouTubers like Corpse Husband and Dream – who have never shown their faces – Pewdiepie felt it was time to finally reveal an inverted face.

In his first video in three weeks, Pewdiepie returned to his usual comic review of his community’s subreddit, r / pewdiepies submissions. However, before jumping into the memes, the YouTuber used his intro to do what he calls an ‘inverted face reveal’. All of this involves putting off his camera and having his editor put an avatar in place of his face.

As usual, Pewdiepie asked his audience to help him by creating their own avatars and promised that the supreme voter would be his new avatar. In addition to YouTube, Pewdiepie recently signed an agreement with video distribution company Jellysmack to bring video content to his Facebook page.

This agreement led to a strange title in the New York Post claiming that the YouTuber “is making a comeback.” ‘The article contains a caption that says Pewdiepie has been absent for the past five years. Of course, this all refers to his absence from and return to Facebook – not YouTube. Not one to waste an opportunity, however, Pewdiepie quickly pointed out that Felix Kjellberg made videos in his absence – referring to a long joke that Pewdiepie and Felix Kjellberg are actually two different people.

Pewdiepie has proven time and time again that he can not only keep his audience busy, but that he is still able to grow his community. In 2020 alone, the YouTuber gained six million followers through a combination of let’s play and reaction videos. At the end of the day, he had a total of 108 million followers on YouTube. With his reach also to Facebook in the near future, it would be safe to say that Pewdiepie is going to appear more than ever before.
