Pennsylvania releases lowest two-day covid report since March 23

The state’s latest new case report, released on Monday, has not been so low since the fourth week of March.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported a new 1-day case of 1,914 – the first among 2,000 since March 22. Combined with the 3,761-day one-day report from Sunday, the state’s two-day total of 5,675 is the lowest two. daily report since 23 March (5,093). This week’s two – day report represents a 12% drop from last week’s 6,450 cases.

The latest figures average the state’s seven days a day 4,838, which is below the 5,000 mark reached by the state on Sunday. Notably, the state’s average numbers include a deviation from Wednesday, in which more than 900 cases from as far back as January were imported from a laboratory in Pittsburgh. There was still no explanation as to why the GS Lab did not report matters more quickly.

Incidents

Of the state’s latest two-day report on cases, 4,961 were confirmed by PCR tests, with 714 as probable cases. Health officials define a probable case as a case in which a patient has a positive viral antigen test or covid symptoms with a ‘high risk exposure’ to someone who has been confirmed to have coronavirus.

Among the provinces reporting two-day case numbers, Philadelphia led them all with 1,063 cases. They were followed by Montgomery (507), Allegheny (428), Delaware (351) and Bucks (341).

Allegheny County health officials reported 428 new cases, about 40% lower than the number last week (717). Of the new cases, 372 were confirmed by PCR tests and 56 were listed as probable. The country’s seven-day daily average has dropped to below 500, though that includes the deviation from more than 900 overdue cases Wednesday. The average is expected to fall even further with a normal report from Wednesday.

In Westmoreland County, 115 new cases were reported over the period Sunday-Monday – a drop of nearly 54% from last week (248). Among the new cases, 108 were confirmed and seven were listed as likely. The province’s seven – day daily business average dropped slightly to 124.

Other provinces of Western Pennsylvania report, and their two-day change:

To date, there have been 1,109,291 cases in Pennsylvania, with 937,515 confirmed by PCR testing. In Allegheny County, there were a total of 94,112 cases, of which 71,685 were confirmed. In Westmoreland County, there were a total of 31,555 cases, with 21,554 confirmed.

Deaths

In the past two days, the state has reported 29 new deaths related to community, all of which occurred in April. To date, the state has lost 25,690 people to the virus.

Health officials in Allegheny County have not yet released their daily report. However, the state has added a total of two new covid deaths in the country 1 871. In the country’s latest report on Saturday, the death toll was listed at 1 833. There has been no statement from any health department yet about the difference in the numbers.

In Westmoreland Province, the state reported one new death related to covid, bringing the province’s total to 724. In the past seven days, the province has experienced 11 fatalities, the highest since the beginning of March.

Hospitalizations

After a few days of decline in hospitalization numbers, the latest information published by OpenData PA on Monday shows that 67 residents of the state are still hospitalized due to covid-19. A sum total of 2,705 are currently in facilities, of which 561 are in guard units and 280 in fans.

Since April 1, the state has seen 630 residents in the hospital, 231 in the past seven days.

Hospital numbers also increased in the provinces of Allegheny and Westmoreland, which experienced even longer periods of lower numbers.

In Allegheny, 272 are in hospitals – an increase of 24. Of these, 81 are in ICUs and 39 in ventilators. Despite the rise, Allegheny’s hospital numbers have fallen by 12 over the past week.

In Westmoreland, 54 residents are being admitted to hospital – an increase of four. Of these, 12 are in ICUs and six in fans. Westmoreland’s hospital numbers have dropped steadily over the past six days.

Vaccinations

According to the latest information from the state, there are 5,318,388 (41.9%) people with at least one dose of a covid-19 vaccine and 3,223,900 (25.4)% who have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer or Modern vaccines or the one- Johnson & Johnson shot (which was administered before discontinuation). These figures include data from the city of Philadelphia, which collects its own vaccination numbers.

In Allegheny County, there are 324,017 (26.5%) who are fully vaccinated and 550,152 (45%) who have at least one dose.

In Westmoreland County, there are 85,651 (23.5%) who are fully vaccinated and 136,199 (37.3%) who have at least one dose.
