Pennsylvania has been increasing covine vaccines over the past week; cases, hospitalizations approximately constant

The latest data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows that Pennsylvania residents who received covid-19 shots are more fully vaccinated than those who received partial doses.

Meanwhile, cases, hospitalizations and deaths have not seen fluctuations in any way, but they are still staying down.


Pennsylvania

The state added 2,840 new cases on Saturday, after the one-day high of the month (3,074) was posted Friday. The seven-day average is 2,473 new cases, a number that has been trending lower since the beginning of the year.

Keystone State has now seen a total of 964,296 cases since the virus first appeared in Pennsylvania a year ago.

Philadelphia recorded 365 new cases on Saturday, while provinces of Allegheny and Westmoreland posted 329 and 76 cases, respectively.

The cases of the provinces of Western Pennsylvania are Butler (64), Washington (51), Fayette (29), Beaver (26), Lawrence (21), Somerset (16), Indiana (13), Armstrong (7) and Green. (6).

The state also reported 43 new deaths.

The total number of deaths with covid-19 in Pennsylvania is 24,573 – 256 deaths more than last week (24,317).

Two weeks ago, deaths increased by 317. Three weeks ago it was an increase of almost 430. Four weeks ago it was 500, while the change five weeks ago was more than triple, at 1,600.

Pennsylvania has 1,442 people hospitalized due to covid-19, which was lower than 71 as of this time last week. This is the least since the beginning of November. Two weeks ago the change was 272. Three weeks ago it was 275 less, and four weeks ago it was 487 less than the previous week.

Hospitals across the country have been declining since reaching a peak of more than 6,300 in December.

Currently, there are 307 patients in intensive care units (lower than 18 from last week), of which 177 are on ventilators (at six).

State officials said Saturday that 3.5 million doses of covid-19 vaccines have been administered across Pennsylvania, bringing the total to more than 44 other states.

The numbers show that there are 1,161,609 people with only their first shot, while 1,200,195 state residents have both shots. To date, 19% of Pennsylvanians (2,361,804) have at least one dose, while 9% are fully covered.

Teachers and child care workers across the state are being offered the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in a program that began this week in Intermediate Units. It was not immediately clear whether the jump in fully vaccinated residents was due to the J&J one vaccine.

Also, state officials reiterated that the vaccination numbers for the state do not include Philadelphia, which is its own jurisdiction, or federal facilities that work directly with the federal government.

However, according to the Philadelphia Department of Health, 321,000 residents had at least one dose, while 131,086 were fully vaccinated.


Allegheny county

Allegheny County on Friday reported 329 additional cases for an average of seven days out of 243 cases, roughly where it has been since early February.

Of the new cases, 224 are confirmed according to 921 new PCR tests, the most confirmed cases reported so far in a single day so far this month, according to the health department. One of the positive cases is more than a week old. The dates of the tests were March 5 to Friday. The ages of the patients ranged from five months to 97 years of age. The median age was 37.

No additional deaths related to covid were reported, leaving the total at 1,731.

Currently, there are 159 people hospitalized for covid-19, with 48 patients in intensive care units and 19 in ventilators.

The country has had 5,367 hospitalizations in the past year. That is 224 more patients than last week.

Nearly two weeks into March, Allegheny County reported 3,110 cases of covid-19, averaging 240 a day (five higher than last week); The February average was 261 cases per day, after posting a total of 7,301.

In January, 15,559 cases were reported – an average of 502 per day.

During December, the province amassed 25,405 new cases. It almost represents 13 of the affairs of Allegheny County. It averaged 820 per day.

In November, officials recorded 12,608 new cases. December, the amount more than doubled.

In the whole of October, the province had 3,448 new cases.


Westmoreland county

Westmoreland County added 76 cases, raising the average from seven days to 70.

For the third time this week and for the fourth time this month, no additional deaths were reported with regard to covidity. In February, the total was 67; January 178 recorded.

In December, 224 deaths were reported. Westmoreland County has not reached that number since the virus was first reported there in March through Dec. 4.

There are 119 covid-19 patients as of Saturday in hospitals across the country – the same total last week. Of those, six are in intensive care (three up), two of whom are on ventilators.
