Pelosi blames border crisis on Trump’s ‘broken system’

House President Nancy Pelosi on Sunday acknowledged the crisis surrounding the rise of children crossing the southern border – but blamed the Biden government for inheriting a “broken system” from former President Donald Trump.

‘The facts are as follows: there are more children. About 600, 700 more children, unaccompanied children, cross the border. This is a humanitarian challenge for all of us, ‘Pelosi (D-California) told ABC News this week.

“What the government has inherited is a broken system at the border, and they are working to rectify it in the best interests of the children,” she said.

But Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.) Said the blame for the crisis at the border rests solely with President Biden’s lap and said the president’s policy invites migrants to undertake the dangerous trek to the US.

Asked by “Fox News Sunday” Chris Wallace, host of Biden, is responsible for the increase in migrants and the number of concerns, Cassidy said: “Empirically, it’s completely.”

“When people think they can come in, they start sending their unaccompanied child through Mexico, where she can be abducted and trafficked,” Cassidy said, claiming that immigration officials told migrants in Spanish that the border was “open.”

“There can be no doubt when it comes to someone who is thinking of joining a caravan,” he added.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection figures, more than 29,000 underage minors crossed the border in February. The numbers of people trapped on the Mexican border last month totaled more than 100,000 – an increase of 28 percent over January.

The total number of children of one month arriving at the border is almost as much as the number of children last year.

The influx of migrants arriving at the border so overwhelmed federal immigration authorities that Biden authorized the Federal Emergency Management Agency to ‘help receive, protect and transport the children’ for the next 90 days.

Pelosi praised the move to involve FEMA.

‘I am so pleased that the President, as a temporary measure, has sent FEMA to the border to help ease the children of one – the problem of 72 hours to where they are cared for when they are transferred to family homes. or houses that are safe for them, ”she said.

“So this is again a transition for what was previously wrong to what is right,” Pelosi added.

Biden has been criticized by Republicans for reversing many of Trump’s immigration regulations, including the “Stay in Mexico” policy, which required Central American asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while U.S. courts reviewed their claims.
