Since Feb. 2 is the NBA’s deadline for teams to gather later acquired players in a trade show, the New Orleans Pelicans have focused on the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics as potential trading destinations for JJ Redick, sources Shams Charania tells The Athletic. .
Redick, whose family is in Brooklyn, is believed to have a strong preference for returning to the northeastern area. There is no deal on hand yet, sources said.
In the 76ers, Nets and Celtics, the Pelicans direct a champion for a trading house. All three teams expressed interest, sources said. Redick has a $ 13.1 million contract expiring at the end of the season.
Redick (34) scored 7.9 points this season. He was a “Did Not Play-Coach’s Decision” in the last two games of the Pelicans. New Orleans has two young, promising guards in Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kira Lewis who are on the precipice of rotation spots in the busy backfield.
Redick, a 15-year veteran in the NBA, has had a very productive career averaging 13 points and 41.4 percent of the 3-point series in 912 NBA games.
The Athletic reported Tuesday that teams have appealed to Redick and Lonzo Ball and that the Pelicans are open to discussing both in potential packages.

February 2: The last day on which a player can be traded and still be summarized in a multiplayer transaction by the March 25 deadline.
February 6: Most players who have signed free agent contracts in the off-season can be traded.
