Peacock reveals the cold opening of the office that has never been seen before

After leaving Netflix in the US, The Office officially switched to NBC’s Peacock streaming service. As part of the celebration, NBC has unveiled a cold opener that will definitely please fans. Twitter by Peacock, the version of Dwight is beaten again by Jim because he believes he’s in The Matrix.

Like the film on which it is based in 1999, Dwight receives a message on his computer from a mysterious person informing him that the two will meet soon. He soon finds out that Dunder Mifflin’s security guard Hank is actually called Dorpheus, brother of Morpheus (portrayed by Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix), who offers Dwight the option to take the red pill or the blue pill.

This is just one of the many scenes not yet available on Peacock. Currently, Seasons 1 & 2 are available for free on the streaming service, while Seasons are locked 3-9 behind Peacock’s premium level.There are also 23 extensive episodes called The Office: Superfan episodes with longer playing times and previously cut footage.

The office has had a dedicated fan base that has only grown since the series ended nearly a decade ago. It was one of the most popular shows on Netflix in 2020, according to Reelgood’s rankings on its daily Top 10 list.

Even more, Brian Baumgartner (who played Kevin Malone), was the most famous person on the video sharing service Cameo, earning more than $ 1 million in 2020.
