PC case that could burst into flames is officially recalled

As we reported earlier this month, NZXT’s (admittedly sweet) H1 case had a problem where it could at some point literally burst into flames. The company reluctantly apologized, but the process has now progressed to a full “recall” for more than 30,000 of the cases.

US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a full recall notice last week, which despite the name does not actually involve the cases being returned. Instead, their advice is to ‘stop using the suitcase’ – easier said than done if it’s your computer – and get a repair kit from NZXT, which includes a set of nylon screws that will not make fire.

The notice relates to ‘approximately 32,000’ cases sold in the US, although the USCPSC notes that ‘approximately 1,024 were also sold in Canada’.
