Paul, Taylor Greene, played Swalwell’s accused role in China’s past

Senate Rand Paul calls on House Democrats for their choice of a congressman who once fell for an accused Chinese spy as accusation manager in the Senate hearing on former President Donald Trump

“This afternoon we were read to by Eric Swalwell, a man accused of being with a Chinese spy,” Paul (R-Ky.) Said. posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon following the arguments of the California Democrat in front of the Senate Chamber.

“How appropriate!” he adds sarcastically.

Paul spoke out strongly against the former commander-in-chief’s second indictment, even trying in advance to come up with a measure declaring it unconstitutional, noting afterwards that the vote would increase the chances of Trump’s conviction as’ death on arrival ‘gee. ”

On Wednesday, however, his tweet was directed directly at one of the drivers.

It was revealed in December by an Axios report that Swalwell, a member of the powerful House Intelligence Committee, had been targeted by a suspected Chinese spy before fleeing the country in 2015.

The woman, named Christine Fang, was socializing with a slew of U.S. elected officials, including Swalwell, in an attempt to infiltrate the U.S. political system, U.S. intelligence officials reported.

After the unveiling, Republicans of the House and Senate began expressing concern about Swalwell’s continued membership of the powerful inward panel.

Those serving House Intelligence have access to some of the country’s most classified national security secrets – raising questions about Swalwell’s suitability to serve on the panel.

House President Nancy Pelosi (D-California) did not want to step down in the 40-year-old legislature’s committee post, but rather joined the House Security Committee just one month after the espionage scandal broke out.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) Contradicts Paul’s disapproval of Swalwell’s presence during the indictment, write on Twitter Wednesday that the California Democrat ‘had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy and sits on the Intel committee. And he’s one of the accusers. ”

“China welcomes your attempt to Rep Swalwell,” the controversial GOP legislator said.

Swalwell, who has been married to Fang since his relationship and had two children, dismissed questions about whether he had sex with the spy.

The staff of the House Democrat earlier told The Post that such information is ‘classified’.

Swalwell maintains that he has had no contact with Fang since the FBI warned him about her in 2015, nor has he been charged with any offense.
