Paul Bettany of WandaVision has entered his third decade in the MCU, and he is just as amazed as anyone.
It can be surprising to realize WandaVisionsay Paul Bettany begins his third decade as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and Bettany himself is as amazed as anyone.
“I read it on Twitter – I could not believe it was true,” Bettany said. Esquire. “Then I checked it and it turned out to be true.”
“I turned 50, so it was an unpleasant feeling for us,” continues the unbelieving Bettany. “Three decades! What are they talking about? It seems to be true.”
Bettany’s involvement with the MCU begins with the advent of the MCU in the 00s with 2008s Ysterman, where Bettany cast the voice of Tony Stark’s AI creation JARVIS Bettany enters the 10’s and continues the role in 2010 Iron Man 2, followed by 2012s Avengers and 2013’s Ysterman 3.

The actor finally had to appear on screen with the launch of Vision in 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron. Vision was created when Tony and Bruce Banner uploaded JARVIS into a synthetic Android, or ‘synthezoid’, created by Ultron as a final upgrade. Before WandaVision, Bettany’s last appearance as Vision was in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. The character was killed by Thanos when the villain claimed the Mind Stone that propelled him.
WandaVision showed that Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, apparently later got the mechanical leftovers from Vision and reconstructed him in some way. With the debut of Disney + last month, Bettany is entering its third decade in the MCU.
