Patrol pirates are surrounded by the most Canadian anti-theft devices: a snow bank

A prospective pirate from the porch is facing charges after being caught on camera, allegedly trying to sweep a parcel from someone’s doorstep in Mississauga, only to get his car stuck in a snow bank while trying to get away.

The incident unfolded in a video that was widely shared on social media. Police say it happened on January 4 around 2.30pm in the vicinity of Meadows Boulevard and Erin Center Boulevard.

The video begins with a man opening his front door and frightening another man standing on his front stairs. You can see it in the player at the top of this story.

“You’re done,” the person behind the camera exclaims as the man runs up the porch to his car and says sorry.

The man then turns around his small hatchback on a pile of snow, where he gets stuck and turns his front wheels furiously.

He can then be seen desperately to get his car moving – trying everything to shovel snow on his hands and knees to pushing his car out of the snow, but it does not help.

“Do you want me to get you a shovel?” the man who is filming says at one point, while the driver is turning his engine, nowhere.

The man behind the camera later starts giving him even more instructions and tells the other man that his car is front-wheel drive, so he has to get the wheels on the ground if he wants to go somewhere.

Peel Regional Police say a 33-year-old man from Brampton was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with one case of theft under $ 5,000 and one of fraud.

He was subsequently released and is expected to appear in court at a future date.
