The New England Patriots are not yet ready to improve their roster after the 2021 season. After already using the free agency market to address three needs – tight end (Jonnu Smith), linebacker (Matt Judon), defensive tackle (Davon Godchaux) – they went back to reinforcing a fourth as well: first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, New England will sign wide receiver Nelson Agholor.
Agholor’s Agreement, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, a two-year agreement worth a total of $ 26 million. While the final structure of the deal will provide additional context, New England has invested considerable resources in a player who was arguably the best season of his career: the 6-foot-0, 200-pound width has 48 passes for 896 yards and eight caught touchdown for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020.
The 27-year-old Agholor joined the Raiders last season after five so-and-so years with the Philadelphia Eagles. A viable deep threat that could pose both in the slot and on the outside – potentially fulfilling the Z receiver role in New England – the former first-round draft pick will add the much-needed great playability to a Patriots wide receiving room it has only been missing for the past two years.
