Patriots Agree to Deal with Matt Judon, Jonnu Smith, 7 Others: Source

The New England Patriots made a big splash in the free agency on Monday and agreed to settle with a whopping nine players, including Matt Judon and tighthead prop Jonnu Smith. A source confirmed the move to The Athletics.

The Patriots and Judon agreed on a $ 56 million contract for four years. Judon, 28, had 34.5 sacks with the Ravens in five seasons, six of which in 2020.

New England also agreed to sign a $ 50 million four-year deal with Smith. The deal includes $ 31.25 million guaranteed.

Smith, 25, joins the Patriots after a best season with the Titans. He had 41 catches, 448 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020.

A few wide receivers joined Smith on the attack: Nelson Agholor has agreed to a two-year, $ 26 million contract, and Kendrick Bourne will sign a three-year deal to $ 22.5 million. Agholor received 896 yards last season and had eight touchdowns with the Raiders. Bourne received 667 yards and two touchdowns for the 49ers, his fourth year with the team.

Among other things, New England added defensive back Jalen Mills to a $ 24 million four-year deal, Davon Godchaux to a two-year, $ 16 million deal, and former Jets defensive line Henry Anderson to two years and $ 11 million, including $ 4 million in incentives.

It was not along the defensive line. The team also agreed to sign defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr., who scored 49 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2020, for $ 30 million over four years, and bring back Carl Davis (defensive approach).
