As the social media world slams the misinformation and rhetoric that helped topple the violence during the U.S. Capitol riot last week, Parler was bumped into the right lane by Amazon’s web hosting service early Monday.
Parler, who is favored by right-wing politicians – and some extremist groups – has been a proponent of allowing posts that support Wednesday’s violence. These reports, circa 2000 marked with the hashtag #stormthecapitol, form the timeline of an uprising that has shaken democracy and the world.
There were about 2,000 Parler posts tagged #stormthecapitol.

Amazon has pushed webhosting out of the social media platform because criticism has been leveled at the fact that Parler could not moderate dangerous threats to the government. Apple, which dumped Parler from the App Store, and Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, also said that these messages are dangerous and should not be visible.
Parler disagrees with this, saying it is a last bastion of freedom of speech as the social media world closes the accounts of President Donald Trump and other figures alleging election fraud.
John Matze, CEO of Parler, did not respond to requests for comment, but posted on the platform: “There is a possibility that Parler will not be available on the internet again for up to a week. We have prepared for such opportunities.”
He said in another report that his platform “brings together two people with conflicting ideas. Our mission is free speech, democracy and we the people who have the power.” He told Insider in November that he believes the mainstream press is not telling the truth about its platform’s mission to provide uncensored content to the public.
Parler reports on the Capitol riot are at the heart of arguments over how the riot took shape, the role social media played in it, freedom of speech and what the country faces next. They have, at least temporarily, disappeared from the public eye as Parler finds another web hosting house in the cloud.

It should also be noted that many Parler posts opposed the violence, saying the rioters should be prosecuted, and used the platform to reject the event. But many others were unduly supportive of the rioters.
How bad did the posts get, and what’s the story they tell of an uprising that killed five people, damaged the Capitol, and terribly frightened an American population?
Here’s a chance to decide for yourself, because Parler might at least fall short.
Insider combed thousands of pages of the site to compile a diary of the riots that shook American democracy and the world. We only show complete posts of posts from verified accounts of public figures and quote or edit others.
“The tyranny will end if the elite fear for their lives.”
Posters were posted online and on Parler weekly before the riots on January 6 in which they uttered ‘THE GREAT BETRAYAL IS OVER’ and ‘IF THEY DON’T HEAR US, THEY WILL FEAR US. ‘
Other posts that led to the event also cited intimidation as a goal. The official report of a company published on Parler that the event in Washington would have an impact when ‘this elite will see other elites killed’ and ‘if the patriots start shooting at these people and dropping them’.
A comment on the report quoted what they said was General George Patton’s prayer before the Battle of the Bulge. The thread contains an image with the quote: “The tyranny will stop if the elite fear for their lives.”

Verified right-wing accounts light fires
Prior to the riots, large right-wing accounts verified by Parler sought to give the crowd energy.
Conservative commentator Dan Bongino said: “Can’t you just experience the panic of the Democrats? Tomorrow is going to be BIG.” A commenter complained that the event was not bad enough. “Get angry, boys of a nb —- es Get angry.” About 13 million users viewed the post, Parler showed.
Lin Wood, a Trump lawyer who asked for Vice President Mike Pence to be executed on Parler – one of the few posts the company has removed – told those in Washington: “The time has come. Patriots “Promise your lives.” The post concluded with: “TODAY IS OUR DAY.” Parler’s statistics showed that nearly 8 million people saw the post.
Team Trump’s verified account posted a video of the president saying, ‘We will not take it anymore. That’s what it’s about. ‘ A commenter replied: ‘WE ARE IN DC. WAITING FOR THE CALL. WE CANNOT SAVE AMERICA NOW. ‘
Fox News host Sean Hannity posted about the amount of crowds, and Bongino posted a video of a fiery speech by Donald Trump Jr. One wrote a post that includes: “War, war war !!!!! Bring these s — on !!!!”

‘Grab all weapons and go to DC’
The official report from the Proud Boys, which has 349,000 followers on Parler, posted a photo when rioters broke into the Capitol: “Patriots came to the doors of the Senate Hall.”
Parler users applauded the rioters. “More! More! More!” one wrote. “Drag them out of the capital.”
Others wrote: “Beat the snot out of the police,” and: “Hang all the traitors!”

Many posts called for Lynche to be lynched by Democratic leaders and Pence. One mentions half a dozen lawmakers and says, ‘Drag them to the street. Burn them! ‘ Others urged the rioters to burn down the Capitol because of the election fraud alleged by the president despite a lack of evidence.
“Everyone in the neighborhood has to give up all plans, grab all the weapons and go to DC,” one user posted. “Storm the castle!”
About 1,500 users like a message that reads: ‘Hard drive to build capital has been captured – NOW WE ARE LEARNING THE TRUTH.’
One user simply placed the word “BEAUTIFUL” below an image of the riotous message.

‘DONALD TRUMP ASKS US TO COME DC’
When the riots subsided, and the police began to gain control of the mob, the tone of the posts changed.
“Call Donald Trump. Mayday mayday. We’re being pushed back. Need more backup,” one wrote.
Another posted a video of clashes with police, writing: “As the evening clock passes, the police are cracking down on Trump supporters. A comment on the report said: “DONALD TRUMP ASK US TO COME TO DC. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE ASK OR EXPECT FOR.”
Other posts pleaded with Mike Flynn, a retired Army general and Trump’s former national security adviser, to come and lead them. One posted that a video of the president asking protesters to abstain from violence had been fabricated. “TRUMP REPORTED ON QUESTION FOR PEACE – BUT WITH HOUSEHOLD STAFF PROPOSED VIDEO ‘DEEP-FAKE’,” the report said from a verified account. This has been liked 325 times by users.
When the president requested the support of the Capitol police, one poster on Parler said: “Capitol Police are fighting us … whose side are you then?”
‘NOW THEY WILL SEE A TRUE RIOT’
Many posters on Parler appear to feel disillusioned after Trump called for an end to the violence. “Today my America is dead,” said one.
But it quickly turned to determination to go beyond last week’s riot for further unrest next week in the country’s capital. “HAVE ALL MY ROOM FOR JANUARY 16-20!” One said, adding that he wanted “GRAB AMERICA BY THE P — Y”, a reference to a recorded comment from the president from before he was in office .
“IT’S GOING TO BE REAL,” one Parler user posted after the riot. “EVERYTHING IS GOING TO FIRE … NOW THEY WILL SEE A TRUE RIOT.”
The day after the uprising, a Parler user said Washington leaders did not expect a million patriots to come through the front door and lynch them in the streets. They had never feared the people until yesterday. “He concludes his post with the line:” And it ends on the 20th. “
