Parasite game leaks from a technical test • Eurogamer.net

More than an hour of play from a Rainbow Six: Parasite technical test leaked. This is the first time we have seen the game run in any form.

The game, seen by VGC, was broadcast live on Facebook Gaming from someone who claims to have recently received an invitation to play a technical test of Rainbow Six: Parasite on a computer. Clearly, they apparently did not take much notice of Ubisoft’s non-disclosure agreement.

The same game was subsequently uploaded to YouTube, though I suspect it’s not long for this world:

Parasite is the code name for what was once called Rainbow Six Quarantine. Last month, Ubisoft said the original name would change due to the ongoing pandemic.

“While we recently said we were going to change the name of Rainbow Six Quarantine, ‘Parasite’ is only a placeholder that our internal teams use,” a then-Ubisoft spokesman told Eurogamer.

“Recently, we conducted an internal test for the match and some of its details have been made public. We can confirm that this is a look at the upcoming match, and we will share more details, including the official name, soon. “

Rainbow Six: Parasite is a first-person shooter on the group. From the leaked game we see the manual, or the ‘simulator’ as it is called. The player selects an operator to play with from a handful of options, tampers with their unloading (weapons have stats and attachments and all modern shooter cons) and then ventures to the tutorial.

The zombie-like enemies are called ‘archers’, and there’s the Rainbow Six Siege-style weapon that skinny fans will know. The atmosphere here turns out to be a creepy zombie shooter. The game encourages the player to kill one of these archers with a silent removal to prevent other enemies from being alerted to their presence. The tutorial voice action is clearly placeholder.

The identity of the leak is clearly visible in the footage – and at the end of the video we see that they have been suspended for 24 hours due to fraud, but that they are still able to play practice mode. This is a damaging leak to Ubisoft – I think the publisher would be furious against Parasite, or whatever it is called, made its debut in the game in this way.

Ubisoft originally announced Quarantine at E3 2019 with some grim videos. Last October, with little more about the game or its development, Ubisoft unveiled Quarantine and several other projects due to the impact of Covid.

Quarantine was originally announced for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Previously to be launched in 2020, it will now arrive at some point this year, although a final release date has yet to be confirmed.
