Paramedic suggests nursing during COVID-19 vaccine appointment

Shot on love!

Two heroes in health care in South Dakota are engaged after a paramedic suggested that his nurse administer the coronavirus vaccine.

Sanford Health has vaccinated local health workers in the fight against the virus, and registered nurse Eric Vanderlee has fired shots. The work became personal one day in December when Vanderlee vaccinated his boyfriend and associate of Sanford Health, EMS supervisor Robby Vargas-Cortes.

The big moment of delivery of the vaccine became even more extraordinary as Vanderlee prepared the dose and prepared to give it a chance – to find out that Vargas-Cortes had an engagement ring stuck to his arm, the health center wrote Facebook.

“It’s been a crazy year and it’s been a really nice ride to have you in my life,” Vargas-Cortes said, asking his sister-in-law to marry him. The nurse said ‘yes’ when bystanders clapped and cheered.

Facebook fans agreed that the happy news brightened the end of a gloomy year, thanking the men for their hard work in healthcare during this difficult time.
