Maybe there was a full moon.
A Pakistani man has been arrested for driving through the streets of Peshawar werewolf mask to scare people on New Year’s Eve, reports the Indian Express.
Asad Khan, a resident of the city of Moti, allegedly made roaring noises while riding his motorcycle, according to the store, which Saama TV quoted.
The hairy suspect had a leg up with the police to say he was not trying to scare anyone but just following the government mandate to wear a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Social media users are crying over the images of the short man, who is seen on his bike and later – still wearing the grotesque mask – chained to a police officer.
“Perhaps he did not want to venture into such epidemics. That mask is a foolish weapon to fight Covid-19, ‘ said one Twitter user.
Another one wrote: ‘People get scared of the guy and do not come out during Covid times on new year, but everyone stays safe. Isn’t that a good thing? ‘
And a third said in a tweet that the man ‘was reported to the police by a girl with a red hood.’
It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was charged.
