Pagani’s new 9000 rpm non-suitable V12 sound sounds like an old F1 car engine

There are some amazing YouTube videos featuring the Pagani Zonda R and its successor to Revolucion, and in time we are sure there will be the new Huayra R.

Just like the only version of the Zonda, the Huayra R has a natural V12. Instead of using one borrowed from Mercedes-AMG, Pagani’s new multi-million Euro toy has an engine designed from the ground up by none other than HWA AG. The German company was behind the legendary Mercedes CLK GTR, and recently developed a more N12-V12 supercar – the Apollo IE.

While we may have to wait a little longer before hearing the Huayra R drive in anger, we can get an early preview of these recordings of the test. And dear sir, it sounds good.

The engine runs at 9000 rpm or 9200 rpm (Pagani quoted both of these figures – we contacted them for the explanation) and screams through Inconel exhaust manifolds with equally long tubes that create the classic Pagani noise.

The 6.0 liter unit is impressively light at 198 kg and can drive about 6000 kilometers between the services. It forms a tensioned part of the chassis and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed consecutive gearbox.

Unfortunately, the carbon fiber package costs our normal people € 2.6 million. Plus tax.
