Packers promotes 4 coaches, hires 4 other coaches

The Green Bay Packers announced a well-rounded coaching staff on Monday. The new changes include four promotions and four new rentals.

Jerry Gray and Adam Stenavich received the biggest promotions.

Gray, the team’s defensive back coach in 2020, added a passing game coordinator to his title. He will be a top assistant under new defense coordinator Joe Barry.

Stenavich, who has led one of the team’s most impressive groups this past season, will be the new coordinator of the offense, in addition to his role as attacking coach.

The Packers also promote Rayna Stewart from Quality Control Coach for Special Teams to Assistant Coach for Special Teams, and Connor Lewis from Offensive Coach for Quality Control to Special Teams Assistant and Game Management Specialist.

The team hired the following people: John Dunn (senior analyst), Justin Hood (quality control coach), Ryan Mahaffey (quality control coach) and Tim Zetts (quality control coach).

Hood, Mahaffey and Zetts all come from the university ranks. Dunn was with the New York Jets last season.

The Packers retained all the leading assistants in the defense staff who served under Mike Pettine, who was replaced by Barry last month.

The Packers did lose the offensive quality control coach Kevin Koger, defensive quality control coach Christian Parker and senior analyst Butch Barry, who left Green Bay for other coaching opportunities during the season.
