OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 is now available for OnePlus 7 / 7T

After what felt like a long wait, the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 is now launching for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series, bringing with it all the Android 11 kits and features.

OnePlus has confirmed that OxygenOS 11 will be seen on the OnePlus 7 and 7T series at some point in the first quarter of 2021, and the creditworthiness where it owes has given the Chinese firm. Both updates for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series have been announced in two separate posts on the official OnePlus forums – much to the delight of waiting fans and owners.

This is not a full version, as the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series is still a beta build. Since it is essentially the same core shape as it is found in the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8 and 8T series, it is likely that errors are kept to a minimum. We’ve already taken a deeper dive into our favorite features of OxygenOS 11 – which includes several of the new features found in the full and extensive to-do list for both devices below:

  • System
    • Update to OxygenOS 11 Version
    • Fresh new UI visual design gives you a more comfortable experience with various detail optimizations
    • Optimize the stability of some third-party applications and enhance the experience
  • Camera
    • The camera UI has been updated and some feature paths have been optimized for convenience
    • Recently added HEVC codec to seamlessly reduce video size, capture and shoot without sacrificing quality
    • Customize access to a third-party app to share the photo by previewing
    • Recently added the quick access to the recording mode by holding down the relax button and sliding the button, you can easily zoom in or out
    • Added the version again in lapse mode to show the actual filming time
  • Surrounding view
    • Recently added Insight clock style, a joint creation with Parsons School of Design. This will change according to the phone usage data (To set: Settings> Customization> Clock style)
    • Custom Canvas feature that can automatically draw a wireframe photo based on a lock screen photo on your phone (Path : Settings-Customization-Wallpaper-Canvas-Select a photo preview and it can be generated automatically)
    • Always-On-Display function is tested internally and will be released in the following versions. In this build you can use the “Ambient Display” by picking up your phone or tapping the screen, it can be turned on in the Settings.
  • Dark mode
    • Add the Dark mode hotkey, drag down the quick setting to turn it on.
    • Support automatically turns on the feature and adjusts the time series. path: Settings – Display – Dark mode – Turn on automatically – Activate automatically from sunset to sunrise / custom time frame
  • Shelf
    • The interface is newly designed, new shelf design
    • Weather widget added, animation effect smarter
  • Gallery
    • Support story feature, automatically generates weekly videos with photos and videos saved
    • Optimize gallery loading speed, and image preview faster

There are some known issues for those out there hoping to smash OxygenOS 11 and Android 11 on your OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T or 7T Pro. OnePlus has confirmed that the power consumption can be affected with this beta build, while the OnePlus Gallery app may have charging issues, the automatic adjustments of the screen brightness may also seem slowed or slowed down.

We strongly recommend backing up your device and all important files and information before attempting to install this Android 11 based on your device. It is also important to use only the right links for your device, which means that you should use the links based on your specific region. OnePlus has temporarily removed the OxygenOS 11 .zip files due to hardware issues that occur on OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro hardware – OnePlus 7 Pro devices are not affected.

Expect more updates before a stable release for both devices in the coming months.
