Overwatch came out of nowhere with a brand new event called the PachiMarchi Challenge, which promises to be one of the most beautiful festivals in the game to date.
If you’ve played Overwatch, chances are you’re familiar with the smiling little octopus / onions known as Pachimari. They are basically the cutest thing in the game (besides baby D.Va) and now they get their own opportunity.
That’s right, from March 9 to 22, PachiMarchi will be the very first Overwatch mini event not focused on a real playable character.
Set yourself up for a sizzlin ‘headache.

Like us, you probably saw this trailer tweeted by Overwatch and thought, “what’s going on, Jeff?” as it does not really explain what the event will consist of and it is not really hero specific.
Blizzard did explain more about what would happen on the official Overwatch forums. According to devs, you can unlock six Pachimari-themed sprays created by the community just by launching Overwatch before the event ends.
Unlike similar events in the past, PachiMarchi will not has Twitch drops, so the only way to earn the rewards we know so far is to sign up and play.
What would these Pachi-themed sprays look like, you ask? They haven’t been revealed yet, but Overwatch has been tweeting literally a bunch of painfully cute Pachimari fans since it started in March, so this might be a good place to start looking.

There is no question of skins or any other reward, but the chances of each hero getting their own Pachimari skin for this occasion are unfortunately pretty slim.
While the thought of making May’s sidekick Snowball in a little tentacle onion or giving Roadhog a skin for his favorite plushie both seems beautiful, it seems highly unlikely (you can definitely take these ideas for future use) , Jeff).
A bit of speculation has been circulating that we might be launching the Overwatch Archives event this week, based on the launch in the second week of March 2020. Blizzard may have had other ideas, but chances are the next seasonal event at the go. shortly after PachiMarchi closes on March 22nd.
