Outriders will be launched on Xbox Game Pass

Outdoors, the upcoming third-person game from People Can Fly, is set to launch on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft confirmed Monday. Players who have a Game Pass subscription can download the game on April 1 or play it using Microsoft’s cloud game service, which is currently in beta.

The announcement comes weeks after players first got their hands on it Outdoors via its playable demo, which allows players to take their progress to the full game. In our impressions of the demo, we noticed how refreshing it is to have just hours of loot in the game – a good sign for how Outdoors can treat its loot on April 1st.

Outdoors takes place on a distant planet called Enoch. After being colonized by humans, something goes terribly wrong and players are thrown into stasis for years. They emerge decades later with special forces and must help their friends – now much older – to get the planet back.

Players can choose from four different classes and group with two other friends to explore Enoch and earn loot. Outdoors also works differently than most outdoor games, as People Can Fly has made it clear that the game is not a live service game, which means no additional updates are planned, and that all endgame content will be available to players during the launch.

Outdoors will also be launched on Google Stadiums, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam. The game contains complete crossword puzzles so that Game Pass friends can play with friends on a computer, for example.
