Outriders demo is rebalanced after equipment farmers join HAM

Farmer like Stardew Valley

Many people enjoy the demo for People Can Fly’s team shooter Outdoors, with an incredible two million players signing up to fight across the desert of the planet Enoch, over and over, and over and over again.

In fact, people played the demo again so many sometimes they start building up a worryingly powerful arsenal of weapons – so much so that the developer steps in to change the ease with which traders can pack this devastating firepower. The concern is that this intense method of “farming” top equipment and weapons will leave players absolutely taxed as soon as the main match finally hits, and that they will be able to stir the opposition endlessly throughout the main field.

In an official Reddit message, People Can Fly noted that it’s good for the player to play the demo as often as they like, and to buy everything they can, but it can spoil their enjoyment of the main game, allowing players to transfer their inventory and levels from the demo edition.

The new update – which is in the Outdoors demo today – will remove all chance to find legendary equipment in chests, shops and sellers, even if they shall remain as a reward for completing side-quests, or as extraordinarily happy drops of defeated enemies. People Can Fly hopes it will reduce the chance that the entire community after Outriders related to Schwarzenegger on the beach in Command.

Outdoors launches April 1 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Stages. Stay tuned as our own Chris Carter’s thoughts on the demo Destructoid hit today.
