FEMA allocates $ 110 million to Oregon for vaccinations
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has allocated $ 110 million to federal funding to assist the Oregon Health Authority and partners in managing dozens of COVID-19 vaccination centers across the state.
The vaccination stations supported by FEMA will be able to administer more than 2 million vaccines during the 90-day operational period. Timelines are still being revised.
Grants for emergency protection measures are funded by FEMA’s public assistance program, which reimburses communities for actions taken in response to disaster recovery. FEMA compensation is paid directly to the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, which then makes payments to the local and tribal areas and government agencies that have incurred costs.
Vaccinations in Oregon
OHA reported that 21,793 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines were added to the state immunization registry Monday. Of this total, 12,853 doses were administered on Sunday and 8,940 were administered previous days, but were entered in the vaccine registry on Sunday.
It can take a few days to complete the total daily totals, as suppliers have 72 hours to report doses and technical challenges have caused many suppliers to lag behind in their reporting. OHA has provided technical support to vaccination sites to improve the timeliness of their data entry into the state’s ALERT Immunization Information System (IIS).
Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 1,163,828 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,420,125 doses of vaccine have been delivered to Oregon sites.
St Charles Health System reported 31,880 COVID-19 vaccinations given Monday at 4 p.m.
These data are provisional and subject to change. OHA’s dashboards contain regularly updated vaccination data, and Oregon’s dashboard was updated Monday.
