PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) – There are 13 new deaths related to COVID-19 in Oregon, including two Crook County residents, which increases the state’s death toll to 1,877, the Oregon Health Authority reported Saturday.
OHA also reported 775 new confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19 as of 7:01 a.m. Saturday, bringing the state to 137,600.
Vaccinations in Oregon
On Saturday, OHA reported that 15,461 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been added to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 11,151 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and 4,310 were administered previous days, but were entered in the vaccine register on Friday.
It can take a few days to complete the total daily totals, as suppliers have 72 hours to report doses and technical challenges have caused many suppliers to lag behind in their reporting. OHA has provided technical support to vaccination sites to improve the timeliness of their data entry into the state’s ALERT Immunization Information System (IIS).
Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 285,914 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. All vaccinations were administered by Oregon hospitals, long-term care agencies, emergency medical services agencies (EMS), emergency care facilities, and local public health authorities (LPHAs).
To date, 492,450 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites in Oregon.
These data are provisional and subject to change. OHA’s dashboards contain regularly updated vaccination data and Oregon’s dashboard was updated Saturday.
COVID-19 hospitalizations
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Oregon is 310, which is seven less than Friday. There are 83 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), which is four more than Friday.
The total number of patients in hospital beds may vary between check-in times. The numbers do not reflect admissions per day nor the duration of the hospital. Staff restrictions are not captured in this data and may further limit bed capacity.
More information on hospital capacity can be found here.
