On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County began vaccinating individuals aged 65+ years. The Orange County government is following the state’s allocation plan based on a phased approach while vaccine doses are limited. Residents can be informed about vaccine updates by visiting ocfl.net/Vaccine.

As more vaccines become available in Orange County, additional frequently asked questions will be added.

General

Do I have to be an Orange County resident to register for a COVID-19 vaccination?
No. The Florida Department of Health is currently vaccinating individuals 65+ years of age. Those wishing to be vaccinated must register for an appointment and have a valid photo ID. No steps are accepted. Visit ocfl.net/Vaccine for more information on the vaccine in Orange County.

Where are vaccines administered? Is it a driveway, or will I have to get out of my vehicle?
Pass-through vaccination is currently being administered at the Orange County Convention Center. You do not have to get out of your vehicle if you are vaccinated.

Where are vaccines administered at the Orange County Convention Center?
The vaccines are currently being presented to the Northern Congress of the Orange County Convention Center. Individuals are asked to follow directions that lead along the route to the North Complex.

Will COVID-19 testing in the Orange County Convention Center be affected?
No. The testing of COVID-19 in the Orange County Convention Center will continue and will not be affected by vaccinations. Tests are located in a separate location in the West Concourse. Visit ocfl.net/Testing for more information on the test.

Is an ID required to be vaccinated?
Yes. You will be asked to show a valid driver’s license or photo ID confirming your name and date of birth before receiving vaccination.

How early do I have to show up for my appointment?
You will be asked not to arrive more than 20 minutes before your confirmed appointment slot. Persons arriving earlier will be asked to wait to accommodate other pre-scheduled appointments. It is recommended to arrive at the vaccination with a full tank of gas, water, a snack and any medication, if necessary, as the waiting time can be longer than one hour.

How do I know if I’m in the right line for vaccinations?
The vaccines are currently being presented to the Northern Congress of the Orange County Convention Center. You will be asked to follow directions directions that lead along the route to the North Comb. The Florida Department of Health staff is at the front of the vehicle’s waiting line to confirm that you are there for your scheduled vaccinations.

What about elderly people who have transportation challenges?
The Florida Department of Health and the Orange County Government are working on plans to help eligible individuals who are at home or who have transportation challenges as soon as more vaccine becomes available.

What about elderly people who have no internet access to register?
Those who do not have access to the Internet can register using a computer at an Orange County Community Center or their local branch of the Orange County Public Library. From Monday, January 4, 2021, qualifying individuals can call 3-1-1 to help institute a vaccination.

I am younger than 65 years but have an underlying health condition. Do I qualify for this current vaccination round?
The Florida Department of Health is currently in the process of vaccinating individuals aged 65+. As more vaccines become available, the state will determine the next phase of vaccination for vaccinations.

Will the distribution of vaccines be available in other areas of Orange County?
There are future plans for the distribution of the vaccine in other places in the country. The Florida Department of Health and the Orange County Government will review potential vaccine distribution sites as more vaccines become available in the state.

How do I register for the second vaccination?
When you register for your first vaccination, the third-party software system will automatically register you for your second vaccination.

How can I prove that I received my first vaccination?
After receiving your first vaccination, you will receive a COVID-19 vaccination card. Your record card is your documentation that you have received both doses of the vaccine. Do not lose your record card.

Is the vaccine free?
Yes. The vaccine is administered free of charge to the individual.

Are there toilets in the vehicle’s waiting line?
Yes. Portals and a washing stations are located in the waiting line and in the observation area after vaccinations have been applied.
