Tthe Supercopa de Espana final confirmed what it is Barcelona team really is. As Marc-Andre ter Stegen is human after all and not the goalkeeper we saw in the semi-final, then they are a clear and dull team without the attitude that has to match their favorite etiquette. It’s a sad thing that is summed up by substitutes, with Miralem Pjanic, Martin Braithwaite, Trincao and Oscar Mingueza. That’s what this team is about, nothing more.
There are also Ronald Koemans cowardly and crazy planning, just as much in his team selection as with his tactics. But especially with his substitutes. He made ultra-defensive changes to maintain the lead they could not maintain. Koeman is the main culprit for the failure of this Supercopa.
Then there is Lionel Messi. There is no clear excuse for his red card, but if I put myself in his shoes, surrounded by so much mediocrity and laziness, I would probably lose the plot and be sent as I am.
