McDonalds released a Happy Meal of Pokémon this week to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise. The boxes with Pikachu on the side, contain a pack of Pokémon cards. There are over 50 to collect and each package contains an exclusive holographic (or Holo) card for McDonalds. There is already a busy online market for the cards and traders are catching up.
Some speculators are on their way to McDonalds early to Record Happy Meals and Reports proposal they are buy so many happy meals as they can. Some places are limiting the number of happy meals an individual can buy, but it does not appear that traders can hinder profits.
Why are McDonald’s Pokémon cards so popular on eBay? Scalpers also take these cards away from children. pic.twitter.com/6DxzzhN8Sd

The card packs are sold regularly at least $ 10. Some people have found boxes with more than 100 packages, which are sold on eBay $ 1,000 or more. Whether the exclusive cards will be valuable enough in the long run to pay for the chance remains to be seen, but it seems to have been produced in large quantities, so it may not be very rare.

It may not be easy to get happy meals with the card packages, and some fans report that their local McDonalds stores sold out. At least some people who go after the tickets not only throw away the food, but rather do it donate it on people in need.
Since it appears that the Pokémon trading card game has become more popular over the past year or so, it should come as no surprise that an online market has quickly sprung up for these packages. Some leading Twitch creators have spent thousands of dollars on card packages to open up in their stream in hopes of finding rare, valuable Holos with which to make a profit.
