OnePlus’ Indian Twitter account bothers what the company looks like first portable fitness band. The company claims that the device, which Android Central previously reported, will be called the OnePlus Band, and will “help you achieve all your fitness goals and make your life easier.” It also suggested in a subsequent tweet that the band could sleep sleep. The OnePlus tweet links to a page on Amazon India, which says that the device will feature a real-time heart rate monitor.
In a tweet, tipster Ishan Agarwal then shared some rumors’ specifications for the unannounced device. He claims that the OnePlus Band will include 24/7 heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, and that it will have 13 built-in exercises. As for the specs, it will be equipped with a 1.1-inch OLED screen, an IP68 water resistance rating and up to 14 days of battery life. It costs £ 2,499 (about $ 35) and will be launched in India in a week, says Agarwal.
While OnePlus’ teaser footage does not show the portable material very clearly, it is a @stufflistings last month showed what it might look like, with a rectangular display and rubber watch strap.
OnePlus already manufactures phones, headphones and even TVs in some markets, but the company confirmed that it wanted to move to new product categories during its OnePlus 8T launch event last year. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company also plans to launch a smartwatch early this year.
Although OnePlus sells phones all over the world, it is noteworthy that both farms for its fitness tracker come from its Indian Twitter account, suggesting that the OnePlus Band may at least initially be focused on the Indian market.
