OnePlus smartwatch arrives on March 23

We know about the OnePlus Smart Watch forever, but the wait for its release is finally almost over.

OnePlus posted a preview on its Twitter account and confirmed that it will launch the product on March 23rd. The teaser video shows some comments from the OnePlus community about which it is released with the caption “You asked for it. You get it”

The teaser also shows some glimpses of the watch itself.

It looks like we have a round face and a textured belt. But anything other than that is just speculation at this point.

It probably also carries Wear OS – although that is not confirmed either.

In an interview with Input Power last year, CEO Pete Lau confirmed the existence of a OnePlus smartwatch and talked about the work the company has done with Google.

‘Wear OS definitely has room to improve. “What we are trying to do is work with Google to improve the connectivity between the Wear OS ecosystem, Android TV and Android smartphones to create this capability for better interoperability between devices in the ecosystems,” he said.

“It’s also looked very positively from Google’s side, so that’s the direction we’re trying to develop, but we have no more than we can currently share.”

The OnePlus smartwatch was first rumored in 2014, but the project was canceled because interest in smartwatches has cooled. Now the market is red-hot again, with smartphone makers like Oppo, Xiaomi and Huawei all making headlines.

Huawei has managed to become the second largest manufacturer or smartwatch through worldwide shipments – and since the Apple Watch has 50% of the market share, it can only be used by iOS devices, there are still many markets to be found.

We bring you the full details on March 23rd.
