OnePlus launches budget phones with OnePlus Nord N Series

Over the past few years, OnePlus has grown from a beloved niche market to a powerhouse in the US market. Its strategy is simple: sell flagship smartphones at affordable prices. Last year, the company announced its first midrange offering, the OnePlus Nord and OnePlus Nord N10 5G. And although none of the United States came through in 2020, OnePlus is now making its promise to bring the Nord N10 5G to the US, and its first budget phone, the Nord N100.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 will be available later this month on T-Mobile, Metro on T-Mobile and on the OnePlus website. Both offer serious hardware at the lowest prices, which it offers compared to the Motorola Moto G Power.

With a 6.49-inch screen and 90Hz refresh rate, the $ 300 Nord N10 5G is the most expensive and feature-rich of the pair. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset and features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. And if the name does not give it away, it also works on T-Mobile’s 5G network.

There is a thick 4,300 mAh battery that heavy users can easily get between charges during a full day. But if you notice that OnePlus includes a 30W Warp charger in the box. A quick ten-minute charge can easily add a few hours of juice to an exhausted battery.

On the back of the phone you will find a fingerprint sensor along with a four-camera stack with a 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens and 2MP depth and macro lenses. A 16MP selfie shooter is on the front.

If you are not worried about 5G or just want to save some money, the OnePlus Nord N100 is worth a look. This is a reduced version of Nord N10 5G that clocks in at less than $ 200. It has a 6.52-inch screen, stereo speakers and a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charger.

The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. At the back of the phone is a fingerprint sensor, along with a triple camera module with a 13MP main lens and 2MP depth and macro sensors. The front-facing camera shows at 8MP.

Both phones come with Android 10 along with the OxygenOS 10.5 skin from OnePlus. This is one of our favorite Android skins and offers features like Zen mode to help you step away from your phone, as well as a black and white mode to read. There is no word on whether any phone will get the Android 11 treatment in the coming months, but OnePlus tends to have an excellent record with software upgrades.

The Nord duo is available online and at T-Mobile and Metro through T-Mobile stores on January 15 at 10:00 ET. The 5G compatible Nord N10 gives you back $ 299.99, while the Nord N100 is available for $ 179.99. Pre-orders will be available on January 8 at 10:00 ET on Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and OnePlus.
