The cat is finally out of the bag – well, half out of the bag, we’ll say. The OnePlus 9 series will be officially announced on March 23rd. As expected, the phones will benefit from a new three-year partnership between OnePlus and Swedish camera maker Hasselblad. And yes, the previously leaked images of the OnePlus 9 Pro were right on the money.
OnePlus has not yet revealed much about the upcoming phones – in true OnePlus fashion it will build up hype by leaking information leading up to the launch date – but we do know what to expect from the camera experience. The 9 Series (and maybe even the rumored 9R) features a custom Sony IMX789 sensor with 12-bit RAW support. It will also be one of the first smartphones to take in [email protected] and the first OnePlus phone to be supported [email protected] native.
Hasselblad’s role in the 9-series will be limited to sensor calibration and staining. From now on, all OnePlus phones will use a new color profile – Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad.
Apart from the supposedly improved cameras, the OnePlus 9 series is expected to include flagship specifications, including a 120Hz OLED screen, Snapdragon 888, up to 12GB of RAM and 65W fast charging with a charger included in the holder.
This time, we expect to see more than just a few smartphones; the rumored 9R / 9E and the Watch may also become scratch time during the event. If you want to get the announcement, you can register here. As always, OnePlus has also opened up applications for The Lab if you would like to be one of the first few people to explore the upcoming devices.
OnePlus 9 Series Colorways
In true OnePlus fashion, we learn more about the upcoming phones, closer to the launch. The company now confirms that the 9 Pro’s colorway we saw in the launch story will be called Morning Mist and that the 9 will be available in a purple color called Winter Mist.
Inspired by a shiny new dawn. Meet the # OnePlus9Pro Oggendmis en # OnePlus9 Winter Mist on March 23rd.

These are not the only colors we will see. Recent leaked versions indicate that we will be looking at at least two other colors of both devices, including a sandstone texture black. You can visit it here.
