Earlier rumors about super-fast wireless charging on the OnePlus 9 Pro may have been conservative. The well-known leak Ishan Agarwal tells Pricebaba that the OnePlus 9 Pro will reportedly boast 50W wireless charging – even faster than a previously claimed 45W, and far beyond the 30W you saw in the 8 Pro.
Not surprisingly, OnePlus would introduce a 50W wireless charger along with the 9 Pro. Details of this do not occur, although it is reasonable to assume that it includes active cooling to handle the heat of high-speed inductive power. This charger will probably also be a must to achieve full performance, as it extends far beyond the standard Qi specification.

It is believed that the standard OnePlus 9 also includes wireless charging, according to an earlier leak by Max Jambor, although it is not clear that it would be as powerful.
If it is accurate, it will be no small feat. A 50W wireless option would not be far behind the already confirmed 65W wired charging for the 9 Pro – you can top up your phone in minutes without searching for a cable.
More details about the phone are expected at OnePlus’ virtual event on March 23.
Whether you want to use this feature regularly is not sure. If you charge fast at these levels, your battery may start to run low. Wireless charging, by its nature, also tends to waste energy – you may see a slightly higher power bill if your device always recharges like this. However, the option can still be appreciated, and there are hints of even faster charging of 100 W on the horizon.
