The OnePlus 8 Pro was the company’s first and only device with wireless charging, but it’s about to change. Next year’s OnePlus 9 series delivers more wireless charging, including an upgrade of the speeds to a whopping 45W.
Max Jambor reports on it Voice that the OnePlus 9 Pro charges with 45W, a 50% increase over the already impressive OnePlus 8 Pro and its 30W charge. Although details are unclear about this new technology, it will likely require a new boot compared to last year’s option, as well as likely further cooling.
Strikingly, the OnePlus 9 Pro will almost certainly accept the 65W wired charge that first arrived on OnePlus 8T, which means it will charge at a serious speed in any way.
Max also confirms a previous rumor that the standard OnePlus 9 will accept wireless charging, resolving one of the few major complaints about OnePlus 8 from last year. However, it is not clear what speed it will support. He also says that the device will support reverse wireless charging, just like the OnePlus 8 Pro did.
