OnePlus 9 ‘Morning Mist’ color shown in official images

The OnePlus 9 Pro will soon make its debut in just over a week, and the company’s hype train is fully operational with teasers and now just a shower of images that the OnePlus 9 Pro displays in a mirror finish option called “Morning” Mis. ”

In a forum post this afternoon, OnePlus unveiled a gallery of images showing the OnePlus 9 Pro in a new color rendering. This new option, based on silver, is called ‘Morning Mist’. OnePlus explains that this new colorway is slowly changing from a foggy look at the top of the device to a mirror finish at the bottom, which also changes from silver to black at the edge.

Morning Mist is the first time we use gradient refraction for the CMF. The film coverage at the back changes from a 60 degree mist or diffusion at the top to 20 degrees at the bottom. The practical effect is that, by adding a reflective glass, it blurs from a misty finish at the top to a mirror appearance at the bottom.

In versions it’s definitely a look, and personally I’m sure it’s just amazing. When I first saw the “Morning Mist” color for OnePlus 9 Pro, my first thought was that it must be a massive fingerprint magnet. Just based on the description of OnePlus, this phone is certainly glossy as all phones are mirrored. I’m sure some people will enjoy it, but it’s a serious shame to see that OnePlus throws away the excellent matte finish of its OnePlus 8, 7 and even 6T devices.
