There is no shortage of information about the upcoming OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, but the reliable Chinese leak Digital Chat Station has appeared with a few more details to put meat on the bones.
The tipster, who was posted on Chinese social networking site Weibo, confirmed some details that are already notorious and provided some more details.
The OnePlus 9, he writes, will have a 6.55-inch FHD + flat screen, while the OnePlus 9 Plus is curved and will stretch to 6.78 inches with a QHD + resolution. Both support 120Hz refresh rates for smooth scrolling and 120 fps playback, and both feature a 3.8mm wide hole camera in the upper left corner of the screen.
As expected, both will be powered by the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, and apparently a 4500 mAh battery is ‘enough’. As for the dimensions, the tipster claims that both will be between 8 and 8.5 mm thick and will weigh “no more than 200 g”.
Among the 800 comments that Weibo leaked, Digital Chat Station answered a few questions. As backed up elsewhere, the phones will apparently support 65W charging, and when asked about possible pricing, he replied that “it should be about the same.”
For reference, the OnePlus 8 sold for $ 699 at launch, with the OnePlus 8 Pro starting at $ 899. And while it’s still much more expensive than the price of the earlier OnePlus models (there was a $ 310 price increase between OnePlus 3T in 2016 and 8T from last year), it would be quite competitive compared to Samsung’s 2021 flagships, ranging from $ 799 for the basic 128GB Galaxy S21 to $ 1,199 for the S21 Ultra.
And elsewhere, the specifications of the OnePlus 9 indeed look very promising. Coupled with the modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mentioned above, the phones can include a triple camera range with a 50MP main lens, a 20MP wide-angle snapper and a 12MP phone number.
Still, for those on a tighter budget, the company is reportedly going through a leaf out of Samsung’s book with a slightly cheaper device featuring last year’s processor. Like the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, the OnePlus 9 Lite will reportedly use last year’s Snapdragon 865 chipset – which is actually a good return for anyone who does not need the latest and greatest. After all, the Snapdragon 865 is still a very capable disc set, and if we assume that the OnePlus 9 Lite does not cut too much elsewhere, it may be worth considering – if accepted outside of China and India, in other words .
