Some people do not like protrusions, and the ability to hide a cutout from a camera has existed for some time on many devices. For Samsung Galaxy owners who have been updated to One UI 3.0, however, the ability to hide the carving screen seems to have disappeared.
The rollout of Android 11 in Samsung’s One UI 3.0 flavor has been a huge success so far and it continues on to a wide range of suitable devices before the Galaxy S21 was even introduced – which is significantly better than previous years.
According to GalaxyClub.nl, if you want to hide your display camera, you will no longer find the option within the settings of the device if you have updated your Samsung Galaxy device to One UI 3.0. Effectively, the option slides UI elements down and obscures the screen around the screen cutout to simulate a forehead that can “hide” the selfie camera pretty well.
Samsung has kept the option fairly hidden compared to some other OEMs. Since you need to go to Settings> Display> Full screen of the app> Advanced settings. Switches to “Hide Camera Cut”, which then places a thick black border at the top of your screen. In general, it is an inelegant solution to a problem that can only be solved before camera technology under the screen is really viable.
We’re not quite sure if this was intentional or a software error. However, those who want to hide the notch on their Galaxy devices may be less likely if it’s part of One UI 3.0. This begs the question: is Samsung going to launch an impressive camera technology in the not too distant future? Well, given the Galaxy S21 versions that have already leaked a prominent display card, we would not have dared for a while.
So if you’ve updated your Samsung Galaxy device to One UI 3.0 and can not see why you can not hide your camera, you now know why.
