One person was killed and two were injured in an accident between a Denver Fire vehicle and a private vehicle Saturday afternoon.
A Denver police spokesman said all three victims were in the private vehicle. The two injured were transported to a hospital.
The Denver Fire Department tweeted later Saturday afternoon that one firefighter was being checked for possible injuries related to the crash.
The crash happened at about 1:37 p.m., at East Seventh Avenue and Speer Boulevard. The police spokesperson advised the public to avoid the area this afternoon while investigating the accident.
Denver police have determined that the fire truck responded to an emergency during an accident, and that its lights and sirens were activated. The investigation is continuing and police have not released information on the rest of the circumstances surrounding the accident.
