According to law enforcement and hospital officials, a man was arrested Tuesday after a shooting at a Minnesota health clinic that killed one person and injured four others. The shooting took place at the Allina Health Clinic in the city of Buffalo.
A representative of Hennepin Healthcare said the victim who was transported to his hospital died Tuesday night. The deceased victim was not identified. According to North Memorial Health, one victim has been discharged from the hospital and three others are in a critical but stable condition.
Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer identified the suspect as 67-year-old Gregory Paul Ulrich, a longtime Buffalo resident with a history of police contact. Urlich is currently in custody at Wright County Jail, according to CBS Minnesota. Buffalo Police Chief Pat Budke said he believes Ulrich targeted the facility or someone inside because he has a history of being unhappy with the health care he received.
According to Deringer, the police received a call from 911 that someone had shot at the clinic at 10:54, and responded to what he called a “terrible scene”. On helicopter material, broken windows are in front of the building.
Deringer said respondents evacuated the injured victims and arrested the suspect. A suspicious package was found in the corner of the foyer of the building and the bomb technicians of the Minneapolis police responded to investigate.

According to Deringer, investigators learned that Ulrich was staying at a Super 8 motel in Buffalo. Officers searched his room and discovered “additional suspicious devices” and evacuated the motel, Deringer said. He added that the department was carrying out additional warrants.
According to Budke, investigators are investigating the suspect’s last hours before the shooting.
“We believe Mr Ulrich acted alone, so perhaps a sigh of relief for us in the law enforcement community and for our community as a whole, we are not looking for any additional suspects,” Deringer said.
Deringer said Ulrich was “no stranger” to law enforcement, and that he had a series of attacks with police that went back to 2003.
Budke sometimes got emotional during the press conference and described the small community as a family.
“Our hearts break as a community,” Budke said. “This is a day no community will want to go through.”
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey tweeted, “There is an unspeakable depravity in the harm done to those who work to heal us.”

Congressman Tom Emmer, a Republican in Minnesota with Buffalo in the district, tweeted that he was praying for the staff and patients at the clinic. “My staff and I are in touch with Allina’s team and we hope this terrible situation will resolve quickly and peacefully,” Emmer said.
