Oilers-Canadiens postponed when two players enter Montreal NHL’s COVID-19 protocol

Monday night’s scheduled game between the Edmonton Oilers and host Canadiens has been postponed after two players were placed in the league’s COVID-19 protocol in Montreal.

Attacks Joel Armia and Jesperi Kotkaniemi have become Montreal’s first players to enter the protocol since the season began on January 13.

The league announced the postponement less than an hour before the written start time at 19:00 in Bell Center.

The postponement was the 38th overall this season for coronavirus-related reasons, and was the first part of the seven-team Canadian Northern Division.

The league listed ten players in the protocol, while the Los Angeles Kings are still awaiting their Test results. The ten players listed are the most since February 21st.

A total of 157 NHL players have now spent at least one day in the COVID-19 protocol this season. Calgary is the only team that has not listed a player.
