Ohio’s basketball makes a big leap in Joe Lunardi’s bracketology

Everyone is currently praising the Ohio basketball team. From the official national polls (which does not mean much yet), to opinion polls, to hits on the interweb, the Buckeyes impress many so-called experts with their victory of six victories in seven games in the big, bad Big Ten.

As we get closer and closer to the regular season series, it feels like a good time to watch with some of the bracketologists where they have Buckeyes in the NCAA field if the season were to end today. One of the most popular is of course Joe Lunardi from ESPN and his famous Bracketology.

And while he had OSU around a No. 5 seed early in the season, he now has the Buckeyes in second place in his latest look at his NCAA Tournament projections.

It’s even harder to figure out where the Bucks fit into the big puzzle of this year’s tournament, with all the games being played in and around Indianapolis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but at the moment he has the state of Ohio in facing No. 15 selected Louisiana in the first round.

Look, this thing will change a thousand times from here to March, but at the moment, the Buckeyes look like an improving bunch playing its best ball. Let’s hope it continues like this. If that happens, you’ll see even more positive NCAA Tournament projections.
