Ohio State to Wear Diamond Quest Uniforms Against Clemson for the Second Sugar Bowl in a Row

For the second consecutive Sugar Bowl, the state of Ohio will wear its Diamond Quest alternative uniform. The Buckeyes, who this time were Clemson instead of Alabama, will take off the kickback jerseys they first unveiled on January 1, 2015 in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.

The team announced its selection on Monday night after speculation about the uniforms would be chosen.

These uniforms are meant to honor the 1968 national championship team. They have gray stripes on the sleeves, which differ from their usual appearance.

The state of Ohio has not worn this alternative uniform since the Clemson Fiesta Bowl loss in 2016. It did carry them four times in the 2015 season, including the Virginia Tech game where Braxton Miller pulled off his famous spin move.
