Ohio police investigate deadly shooting in emergencies

Officials at the Columbus Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene of a concerned officer standing at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospital shot.

Westerville police chief Charles Chandler told reporters that police responded to an “officer in trouble” in the hospital’s emergency room at 2:22 p.m.

According to Fox 28, the suspect, who was allegedly transported to the hospital in a vehicle, had warrants for domestic violence and a weapon under disability in his name.

Medici escorted the police to the emergency room where the suspect was detained for uploading before being arrested.

However, there was a sudden exchange of shootings with four armed St. Ann’s security officers, two CPD officers and the suspect.

The suspect, who was killed during the incident, was not identified pending family notice. It was not immediately clear whether the suspect had his own firearm and whether he grabbed a weapon from one of the officers at the scene.

Chandler stressed that no one else was injured during the shooting and that the hospital is safe, with the emergency room open for patients entering and pickups for individuals being released.
