Madrid— It is official: two of the most important clubs in Europe have created the Super League, a competition that mainly covers the existence of the Champions League.

AC Milan, Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, ​​Inter, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham are the founding clubs of the new competition.

In addition, three teams will join the two founding clubs during the inauguration. The intention is for a total of 20 teams to form groups of ten integrated teams each, to discuss the tournament that will take place in the near future.

The format will be the following:

– Participates in 20 clubs, the 15 founding clubs and other five additional teams that are classified annually on the basis of the return of the previous season.

All matches take place every week, all clubs will compete in their respective national leagues, preserving the traditional calendar that is at the center of the clubs’ lives.

– The season will start in August with the participation of clubs in groups of two, which will play parties of idea and wealth; the first three of each group are automatically classified for the final quarters. The teams that have quarters and quintessence will play an additional double playoff game.

– There will be double playoff playoffs starting with quarterfinals to reach the final, which will be played in the single match, Mayo finals, in a neutral seat.

“On the other hand, the founding clubs hope to maintain talks with UEFA and FIFA looking for the best solutions for the Super League and for the world football league,” the clubs said in a statement.
