Oculus Quest 2 owners can start testing wireless PC VR games with Air Link

Facebook’s $ 299 Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is getting even more powerful, thanks to a new software update that will unlock the ability to stream PC VR games via WiFi. After Air Link has been updated to v28, it gives carriers full freedom of movement without being tied up by a USB-C cable, and will only be available as an experimental feature at first.

According to Oculus, your play area will be ‘ideal’ within 20 feet of your router, so plan accordingly, then go to the beta settings in its computer app and turn on Air Link.

Other tweaks address the refresh rate that runs at 90 Hz by default and for certain games, but after the update, the refresh rates of up to 120 Hz will be allowed for native applications. There are no apps using the new setting yet, and so far it will not work for Oculus Link titles, although it will come later.
