CNN’s Chris Cuomo remains silent over the nursing home scandal surrounding his big brother, New York government Andrew Cuomo.
Since the scandal erupted last week, Cuomo has not mentioned it in his program, nor has he tweeted about it – instead of devoting tweets and airtime to the indictment of former President Donald Trump.

The governor received early glowing praise from CNN and MSNBC for his handling of the pandemic, and they largely ignored his order for nursing homes to accept patients suspected of having COVID-19. The decision created an onslaught on COVID-19 consequences that infected thousands of elderly patients and resulted in hundreds of deaths among the state’s most vulnerable population.
Cuomo eventually overturned the decision – but thousands died of COVID-19 in nursing homes in New York before reversing course.
Chris Cuomo was widely ridiculed for a series of interviews with his big brother during the height of the nursing home crisis in which they joked and teased each other, while the name “Cuomo Prime Time” largely avoided difficult questions. During one scandalous interview, the Cuomo brothers and sisters essentially treated CNN viewers with a stuffed comedy routine.
The CNN anchor finally mentioned the controversy over the nursing home to his brother after ignoring it during at least ten on-air interviews since the scandal began, but Cuomo quickly pointed out how there are deaths in nursing homes “across the country” “was and said” we have to figure out how to do it better next time “before the next virus wave occurs.
At the end of the interview, the CNN anchor praised the governor as the leader of New York and even admitted to his viewers, “Of course I’m not objective,” while expressing his love for his brother.

Governor Melissa DeRosa told the Democratic legislature that the Cuomo government had taken months to release data revealing how many people living in nursing homes died of COVID-19 because officials “froze” over the concern that the information would be used against us. “
Republicans calling the admission of a “cover-up” are now calling for the investigation and resignation of both Cuomo and DeRosa. A growing number of Democrats are joining calls to revoke Cuomo’s executive powers and destroy the government’s defense of his secret.
The announcement of DeRosa’s comments on a Wednesday conference call with Democratic legislators comes as the Democratic governor – a third-term Democrat who says he will run again in 2022 and writes a book outlining his handling of the pandemic proposal and its administration have already cracked down on their handling and reporting of outbreaks in nursing homes.
Cuomo refused for months to release information on how the pandemic hit residents of the nursing home, but pointed to figures that were more favorable to his government.

Over the past few weeks, a court order and a report from the state’s attorney have forced the country to admit that the death rate at the nursing home is nearly 15,000, when it previously reported 8,500. The new toll amounts to about one-seventh of the people living in nursing homes in New York in 2019.
